All in all, I had a great week-end. Yesterday I went out to observe snow geese migrating. There were possibly 150,000 to 200,000 of them out in a field!!!

And this morning I went out exploring in the woods and amongst other birds, I encountered this pileated wookpecker, making loud noises as he was whacking at a tree in search of insects. The Pileated Woodpecker is a very large woodpecker with a long neck and a triangular flamin-red crest that sweeps off the back of the head. It is nearly the size of a crow.

Wishing you all a great week ahead.
