Loy Krathong, sometimes spelt Loi Kratong, is a spectacular festival held every year on the full moon of the twelfth month in the Thai Lunar Calendar. It is celebrated throughout Thailand to honour Buddha. However, in northern Thailand it coincides with the Lanna festival of Yi Peng , also spelt Yee Peng by the locals. This was taken during the impromptu sky lantern release in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
