Here is some of my photo from the 500px Global Photowalk Los Angeles

It was a very cool group of photographers and we got to shoot LA at a cool Golden hour and sunset.

Shanghai Nights by AmeyKandalgaonkar

This photo is nothing without the glowing clouds. I was really lucky that clouds turned up this way, since this was my very first time at this location. This was shot on 500px photowalk with 10 other people, so I won’t be surprised if a similar image turns up on 500px. I have blended 3 different exposures manually on photoshop for this effect.

1) Exposure for the foreground and buildings- This was at about 5am.
2) Under exposure for the artificial lights in the scene- Shot immediately after the first one
3) And lastly 30 seconds exposure for the clouds- which was shot at about 5.45am, just before the sunrise. I used ND filters to get long exposure to achieve movement of clouds. By this time building and street lights were off.

I was at the location for more than an hour, took more than 50 shots with lots of trial, error and experiments. The photoshop work took about 3-4 hours.

Following 500px link is a good guide for how to blend multiple exposures on photoshop-

I hope this helps all of you! and thanks to 500px for hosting this photowalk. The photo was not possible without it!
