I’ve just returned from a two week trip to Portugal. For one week I was staying in the Sintra area near Lisbon, which I had allready visited a few years ago. And for week two I explored the rocky coastline of the Algarve.
This photo, taken before sunrise, was quite an effort to get. Not the hike to the viewpoint though, which takes only 5 minutes. But the changing weather had me return to this view four times until I was satisfied with the result. Two times strong rain stopped me from shooting this view. Standing on that cliff the rain basically comes from all sides. The third attempt was ok, but the photo I took didn’t have any “wow” in it. So I returned a fourth time and was served this intense light, which lasted for 45 minutes.
The best sunrise I ever photographed. And with Praia da Marinha below I couldn’t have asked for a better subject to shoot 🙂
