Take A Bite @ Early Light by richardverroen

The Owl was hunting and everytime the bird rested on three different favorite spots in the grassland. I decided to sneak near one of these spots and then wait … and wait … and wait.
It took a lot of time, but the waiting was rewarded. 🙂

This Owl is a dayhunter. It has a yellow iris diaphragm. A orange one is mostly a twilight hunter and a black one is a nighthunter.

Short-eared owl……. by avzon

Short eared owl (Asio flammeus): They are rare in the Netherlands and can normally only be found in the wintertime. I was driving home when I saw this awesome bird sitting beside a ditch. I got out of my car and slowly walked up to be bird. Form appr. 10m away I took this shot (without a tripod) in low light conditions. Happy with the find and the picture…..;-)
Short eared owls…….what awesome birds!
