The Monsoon Sunset by MattWalker1

I headed out towards Davis last Saturday afternoon in the hopes of capturing some sunflowers. The Bay Area had some amazing clouds, but as I drove east, the skies became cloudless and blue. It was still going to be a good shoot even without the clouds, but Jeff Lewis texted me that a huge mid level cloud deck was headed my way, and should reach my location in time for sunset. I was doubtful seeing only blue skies above, but about thirty minutes before sunset those clouds came in just as he had predicted. There was almost no color in the sky even 10 minutes after the sun had set, but slowly little crinkles of color started showing up in the sky. It was one of the slowest growing explosions of light I had ever witnessed; it lasted for a good hour evolving into different moods as time passed. I even scored a double rainbow on this shoot! It was great shooting with Tarun
