Prince of the Night by erezmarom

One of the more demanding shots I took during a 4-day hike below the majestic mount Fitz Roy (literally: “Son of the king”). To get the shot, I first had to hike for several kilometers over loose rock, which I passionately hate. In addition, it would be too cumbersome to bring the tent, so we settled for sleeping bags. Luckily the night wasn’t so cold at about 0 degrees Centigrade.
I had planned to shoot the mountain reflecting in the lagoon by moonlight. Aware that it would prove hard to compose at night, I secured my composition after finishing the sunset shoot and left the tripod there, hoping nothing would happen to it. When I woke up at 2 am, it was still there. The new problem was, the moon was covered by clouds, which destroyed my plan to shoot a ‘lunar alpenglow’. After an hour or so the moon rose above the clouds and lit the mountain, reflecting in the lagoon. I’m quite happy with the result, it was definitely worth the hardship!
