A view to a dream by BenCoffman

Matt Newman and I did a little exploring on the southern Oregon coast this fall, and we wound up back at this well-photographed location. The skies along this section of coast are surprisingly dark, and these little coves especially are difficult to photograph–the shadows just become impenetrably thick. This one took a little more work in post-processing than many of my night shots to draw out a bit of shadow detail.

I’ve announced my 2016 workshops. If you’re interested in photographing Crater Lake under its starry skies, and you want to learn my in-field and post-processing methods, consider joining me this summer: http://ift.tt/22azSm2

Thanks for checking out the photo!

Bridge to Gotham City by edwardreese

Was experimenting with post-processing techniques on a classic view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. Ended up with a dark and moody “dark Knight” look at the end. Hope it’s not too over-cooked.

This three-image panorama view was taken at sunset from the cove in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Used a 6-stop ND filter and exposure times were around 15 – 30 seconds. Reflection added in Photoshop.

Scorpion’s Tail by VictorCarreiro

This shot comes from the same location as my “Dark Cove”, only different perspective. Whenever I get bored of shooting locally here in the Bay Area, I must remind myself that there are always new ways to be creative.

Moraira Sunrise. by FranciscoGarciaRios

Música (abrir en nueva pestaña) / Music (Open link in new tab): Lenny Ibizarre – El Viejo Pescador.
View of Dawn in Moraira (Alicante, Spain) from the Platgetes cove, facing East. The “Cap d’Or” (“cape of gold”) slows sunrise in the town, but compensates for that delay with a beautiful show of light and color in every dawn when the sun peeks out behind it.
On the foreground we can see the iron sculpture “Gaviotas” (“Seagulls”) by Antonio Marí Sart, just like an allegory to the freedom of the spirit before such beauty.

The Grand Crossover by janneka

This is one of those places that shout out to be photographed in panorama format. Looking at left there was an intense sunset with deep red colors whereas on the side the city of Skradin looked fantastic at the back of the bay. This should be seen bigger to really understand the beauty of the city but fear not – I will upload a more close-up view of the city later.

When it comes to technical stuff this is a panorama of three horizontal handheld shots (around 180 degrees fov), each manually blended from two shots. Something that I have done so very often lately..
