Snowy Garden in Reykjavik by DagurJonsson

It was lovely but dark snowy mood few nights ago at the Botanic Garden in Laugardaur valley. I really liked the display of light and darkness in the lovely snowy garden.

The Botanic Garden is an outdoor collection of living plants. It was founded in 1961 and is run by the City of Reykjavík. The gardens main role is to conserve plants for education, research and delight. It conserves some 5000 plant species in eight plant collections. The collections give an idea of the enormous diversity of vegetation in the northern temperate zone.

Wow, what a beautiful winter day we have had last Saturday here in Reykjavik. I manage to capture these captivating colors at Ægissíða seashore, close to my home.

Yesterday’s Northern Lights by DagurJonsson

I went out for a drive yesterday evening and the Northern Lights found me close to the golf course in Seltjarnarnes. I was able to be alone with them for 5 minutes before the auroras haunters came to the party.

Narrow street in Stockholm by DagurJonsson

I LOVE the combination of old buildings and narrow streets. It is something so special about that for a guy from Iceland that is not used to old buildings or beautiful narrow streets. I really started to discover this feeling when I lived in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the year 2004. If you add an afternoon, lights, darkness & shadows you surely can get an magical picture out of narrow streets in Europe. I did not have much time for this hobby in Stockholm but I tried to snap a shot here and there.

The Royal Library in Stockholm by DagurJonsson

I am back to Iceland with lots of shots from my weekend trip to Stockholm, Sweden. For me as a photographer I really loved to try to shoot something different then I see here in Iceland. For artistic reasons I therefore have to post some Swedish photos with Iceland everyday shots over the next weeks. Here is one from Humlegården which is a major park in Östermalm in Stockholm. It is the location of the Royal Library and in the centre of the park is a large statue of Carl von Linné, better known as Linnaeus.
