The sea is not only water. It´s much more. It´s canvas, inspiration and sometimes even alive.

I wouldn´t call me a preferred seascape photographer. But when it comes to an interaction I always love to feel the rough power of the ocean. Here in the middle of the Atlantic, nearly 1000 miles from any mainland this feeling is reinforced.
As if it would call me “Come Home…”

The last light of the day is blue. A deep, cool blue, which lies over every little detail like a velvet curtain. With a slightly longer exposure time I´m able to photograph interesting moods at this daytime. Dreamy, magical moods which usher the deep black of the night.

A good photo turns things upside down and transports the viewer into a world of dreams. So at least this is my personal interpretation. If I had a little more guts, I would have had the chance to catch a flash from this gigantic thundercloud on this open platform at nearly 2500 m altitude. My thoughts revolved only around my family and let’s get out here. It was a hard decision but my instinct won…
Photoshop could have addressed it, but for my taste that would be too much of manipulation!
Enjoy the horrible-tempting atmosphere.
