Hello my friends and spectators.

A spectacular summer is coming to an end and the harsh light changes to a smoother yellow each day.

If you wonder what I did all the time, here you can see me doing some field ‘research’ near the summer house of my parents close to the river Rhine in the Rhenish Palatinate.

It is said, that you should try to take your landscapes exposures in the morning or evening light, leaving out most of the day where 90% of the action takes place.

So here I am starting a small series of open air shots in the middle of the day.

Feel free to give me some advice, critics or whatever you like to say about.

Klar ruhn die Lüfte auf der weiten Flur;
fern dampft der See, das hohe Röhricht schimmert
im Schilf verglüht die letzte Sonnenspur;
ein blasses Wölkchen rötet sich und schimmert.

Vom Wiesengrunde naht ein Glockenton;
ein Duft von Tau entweicht der warmen Erde,
im stillen Walde steht die Dämm’rung schon,
der Hirte sammelt seine satte Herde.

Im jungen Roggen rührt sich nicht ein Halm,
die Glocke schweigt wie aus der Welt geschieden;
nur noch die Grillen geigen ihren Psalm.
