Shapeshifter by tpoulton001

What does the future hold for us? I feel like a young boy looking at a crystal ball hoping to see myself travelling the world capturing amazing landscapes and maybe inspiring a few people along the way.

Then again – which one of us doesn’t want that? A future full of riches and amazing experiences, I am not going to debate whether we can change the future or not, but I am going to say that we ought to do everything in our power to make that future we desire ours.

I don’t know whether I will be able to change my future or not but I sure would love to do everything in my power to get what I feel very strongly about. Sometimes it just becomes secondary whether you get to your final destination or not.

And if it simply means changing a few habits, then why not? Are these habits really bigger than our dreams?

Thanks for an awesome year, please be safe and enjoy the holiday season!

Standing before Mt Cook in the icy waters of Hooker Lake. Not as silly as it sounds with appropriate waders on 🙂

Lost Star by tpoulton001

PHOTOGRAPHY TOURS

So much of this poet’s work resonates with landscape photography, do yourself a favour and check him out.

Lost Star by Rabindranath Tagore
When the creation was new and all the stars shone in their first
splendor, the gods held their assembly in the sky and sang
`Oh, the picture of perfection! the joy unalloyed!’

But one cried of a sudden
—`It seems that somewhere there is a break in the chain of light
and one of the stars has been lost.’

The golden string of their harp snapped,
their song stopped, and they cried in dismay
—`Yes, that lost star was the best,
she was the glory of all heavens!’

From that day the search is unceasing for her,
and the cry goes on from one to the other
that in her the world has lost its one joy!

Only in the deepest silence of night the stars smile
and whisper among themselves
—`Vain is this seeking! unbroken perfection is over all!’

The Archer by tpoulton001

A life passion isn’t something that drops on you from the heavens or appears from thin air. Discovering your passion is a process of self-discovery and detective work. It requires stripping yourself bare and examining the “real you.” This is the you without limiting beliefs, old wounds, ego-based pursuits, and fear.

I have been and still am a seeker, but I have ceased to question stars and books; I have begun to listen to the teaching my blood whispers to me.
