I would really appreciate your sharing ideas and tips on High ISO / low light capture techniques and processing:

– Tips for Pushing ISO in low light
– Flash vs No Flash for wildlife?
– Best processing for high ISO/noise
– Best ways to crop 100% or more

Capturing small “jumpy” birds under forest canopy can be more difficult than birds in flight under open skies. I’m refining my techniques for next African safari and would appreciate if you could make comments and share your tips that will benefit others.

The Eye of the Finch by cgifford

While I’m happy to report that this particular male finch has both of his eyes, this image draws attention to what is called finch eye disease. Infected birds can actually become blind and thus starve to death, unable to see food, or fall prey to unseen predators. I became aware of this disease a couple of years ago when I began my quest of close-up wildlife images. It is heartbreaking to see them suffer.
