Ice Sheets and The Castle Mountain by PatrickMarsonOng

Winter is just around the corner. I can’t wait for that cool winter breeze and snow. πŸ˜‰ Sharing this photo taken last December of 2014 at Castle Mountain. A -32 deg morning in one of my favourite place in Banff National Park. It was an awesome experience to wander over the frozen, snow covered bow river while waiting for that sweet morning light!

Guys, if you plan to visit Canada in winter, I would recommend Darwin Wiggett’s ultimate ebook guides – “How to Photograph the Canadian Rockies” Check them out at http://ift.tt/1L0FYjj

Crooked Challenge by stiann

This is a peculiar peak found high up in a mountain chain in southern Norway. As spectacular as these surroundings are, the mountain is a bit of a tough nut to crack when it comes to photographing it. You have to view it from a certain angle to highlight it’s particular shape. But then you have the off center lake in front kind of making things uneven. Here I chose to include the entire lake and then some in two panoramas shot at different perspectives. Put these together for a more realistic representation of the scene, while still having the wide field of view, and left the peak off-center. I hiked around for hours trying to find a frame I was somewhat happy with and I’ve got many options that I haven’t edited yet, but I’m sticking with this all-inclusive view for now.

Unfortunately I was zapped with a Neuralyzer by some MIB right after leaving the area, so I’m not able to provide an exact location. πŸ™‚

Any feedback appreciated. I mean any! I’m always looking to improve, so if you have some CC then by all means don’t hold back. I won’t hate you for it, rather the opposite. But be specific. Describe what you would have done differently in shooting and processing the scene. Thanks for stopping by.
