Up close with an Australian icon. The Redback Spider (Latrodectus hasselti), feared by early settlers, was historically responsible for 12 deaths . An antivenom has been available since 1956, and there have been no deaths directly due to redback bites since its introduction. The female spider, as seen in this shot, is much larger then its male counterpart and has the distinctive red stripe on its abdomen. The female ‘digests’ the male during a successful mating process, which seems to be unique to Latrodectus hasselti. Females reach around 1 cm in size while males are 3-4 mm when mature. Shot was taken with a 100mm macro lens. NSW, Australia

No introduction needed really, London’s most famous icon – Tower Bridge – a long exposure with a NE wind blowing across London

My exhibition “Out of Time”, consisting of 24 A3+ prints, is now up and running at the Resource for London,356 Holloway Rd, London N7 and will be there until late January 2016, 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm, though probably best to get there for 5:30pm. It’s been awhile since I uploaded a photo of Corona Del Mar! This was taken while ago and I don’t have time to process it. Got some free time today and decided to work on this. Utakleiv by Arild_Heitmann

Utakleiv is a classic Lofoten location. One of those spots that ive shot so many times now, but i still find this particular place interesting. There is always something different going on.

On this day the waves were reaching higher than normal, and i found this perfect rock shelf leading to the iconic Skolmen Mountain in the background.
