The wreck and the seaweed wreath… by klrk0077

The remains of a ship on a local beach not far from my home. I took a trip here just as the tide was coming in with my converted infrared camera. The intention was to get some moody B&W shots. I hope you agree I managed to capture a moody shot. 🙂

White and Black II by nlwirth

When I first started experimenting with infrared photography a few years ago, I wanted to avoid the kitschy whites that so many typical IR photos rely on (and often at the expense of composition). So I “burned” my IR images heavily and “dodged” them lightly. Now … I am trying to figure out how to use the whites in a non-kitschy way (so I am “dodging” heavily and “burning” lightly). For me, the allure of black and white photography has always been about tone, tone, tone … so, here I am continuing my search for tones but now in a decidedly whitish landscape of my imagination … yup … yup … yup.
