Best viewed on black!
It’s been a year since my first trip to Joshua Tree and I think this was went even better! I went with my friends Calvin and we had an incredible adventure.
There was still light pollution, but the milky way was certainly visible. This was the first time I visited the geological side of Joshua Tree as opposed to the plantation side.
I have to admit, I like this side much more… there are things to climb and of course, Skull Rock. So cool. A night under the stars is always humbling!
Bit of a re edit again to bring out some parts and re compose.

Please VIEW on black for better lighting!
I already uploaded some photos that I took at this garden not long ago. This is another of my favorites shots that I took that day. This was taken after the sunrise! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day/night everyone! 🙂

Reach Out and Touch the Sky by Shainblum

“Best viewed on black, lots of shadow detail”

This image is a self portrait taken in Joshua Tree National Park. It was my first time exploring out there and I was amazed by all the incredible rock formations. I decided to do a self portrait with the stars out of pure excitement. 😀

When The Sun Was Getting Up! by NhtPhm

Please VIEW on black for better lighting!
I already uploaded some photos that I took at this garden not long ago. This is another of my favorites shots that I took that day. This was taken before the sunrise! Even though I like to take photo with the sun in it but this one is not bad in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day/night everyone! 🙂

Morning Glow by gbphotography

I haven’t been posting images for ages since my move to the US, so it feels good to get images out again. This image here is still from the archives, so I need to get out a shoot new material soon!

During the night of the blood moon on the 8th October 2014 I travelled to the Cholla Cactus Garden in Joshua Tree National Park, California.

I had a fantastic night navigating through these spikey creatures and capturing them under moonlight.

In the morning I was rewarded by this magnificient sunrise!

Joshua Tree and Milky Way Panorama by WaynePinkston

This is a panorama of Joshua Tree National Park at Night, in an attempt to capture to feel of the park at night. This is a panorama of combined vertical images, taken with a Canon 1Dx camera, and a Nikon 14-24 mm lens at 14 mm, f 2.8, 20 sec. exposures and ISO 6400. there are 2 small lights hidden among the rocks and a larger light approx. 40 – 50 meters to my right. There a a considerable amount of light pollution around Joshua Tree. This creates aa background ambient light so the park does not seem “pitch black”, and actually helps to light the foreground somewhat. This ambient light is a very “flat” light however, and does not create a very pleasing look. The added lights create shadows and create some depth to the photo.

Thanks for looking. All comments are appreciated. Hope you enjoy!
