Purple Swamphen – Feeding by RiazSiddiki

Wow……what a lovely evening spent in the company of large number of birds at Kalar Kahar Lake; we were greeted by purple swamphen, stilts, little egrets, great egrets, grey herons, cormorants, coots, kingfisher, marsh harrier, eagle, mallards, wagtails, lapwings, and mostly in good numbers ………….all this made our journey worthwhile………

The Elegant & Proud Asian Paradise Flycatcher by RiazSiddiki

I was lucky to spend few hours in company of a flycatcher pair – and I must confess that I immediately began to like this male flycatcher……. He was very caring towards his nest and vehemently fended off attack from crows twice….. he was very frequently visiting nest and spending time with eggs…… he looked awesome in flight….. and beautiful while sitting……. I really love this bird a lot……

Went on to photograph this lovely bird in the area of Kalar Kahar in its typical habitat Loquat Orchards……..it took an hour or so for us to find the pair of paradise flycatchers……..really an elegant creature…….awesome to look at while in flight…….we spent few hours in their company and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it…..

Many Mouths To Feed by RiazSiddiki

This Asian Paradise Flycatcher looks at his offspring………….with insect in beak……………..puzzled………….who to feed and who could wait till next round…………..these four chicks had big appetite……..…at this growing stage……putting parents under real pressure for feeding them……….if one could just witness the stages of nest making……..egg laying……hatching……feeding the chicks………it would be hard not to acknowledge commitment of these parents……………no one having a heart can hurt these creatures of God………..

This picture may not be as sharp and as detailed as I would have liked………but since I have feelings attached to this moment captured……….I am putting it in my portfolio………….
