Inspired by the Winnetou movie “Treasures of the silver lake”, which has been filmed at the Plitvice lakes.
It’s one from my favorite places which i visited some weeks ago with Cludes Tomato.
I hope i’ll get there some day in winter too, to see this beauty frozen and with snow. The Plitvice national park is one of the most beautiful places i’ve seen so far =)

Some Technical info:
I used an Canon FD 20mm 2,8 legacy lens (everything manual) where i’m still surprised how sharp the results are for such an old lens in combination with my Sony A7ii. I was constantly switching ND Filters (0.9, 1.8 and 3).

GoT – Seafire (Crazy Trip Spot#4) by AlexGaflig

The next stop of Cludes Tomato and me was Dubrovnik in Croatia. Driving down the coast was very beautiful, found some hidden beaches at the coast and it’s a wonderful area. Still impressed (especially as a german) how clean everything was in Croatia, the streets, the cities, the restaurants and toilets 😀
We arrived in Dubrovnik, but we did’nt see the old town first, so we thought “where is this thing everyone is talking about” Then we walked a bit around and found the impressive old town, completely sorrounded by walls! What a cool place! Of course much more touristic then the other places we’ve been but really super beautiful.
There are some mai streets in the old town with typical little side-streets with a loooot of stairs, and cafes+bars on it! Be fit for a walk in the city 😀 Dubrovnik was the most expensive part, there’s no difference to germany when you want to eat in the old town, because of the tourism.
For this pic we went up a hill and climbed on a little building behind a fence, we were waiting for the sunset, with some music and beer, but the light wasn’t as good as we expected unfortunately. Cludes just took away his cam and i had luck with the firework on my last exposure. Maybe not the best pic of Dubrovnik, I’ll upload some others later. In Dubrovnik you should minimum be 2-3 days, because there’s a lot to see! Dont miss to climb the walls, you can walk completely around them. One the one side there is even a bar at the bottom of the walls, where you can jump into the water!

The super cool roadtrip with Cludes Tomato from Sunday till Sunday, with the stops: Bled (Slovenia), Plitvice (Croatia), Zadar (Croatia), Sibenik (Croatia), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Mostar (Bosnia), Split (Croatia) and Bled again.
The following week i’ve been to Vienna (Austria) again, from Tuesday till.
Prepare for some uploads in next time =)

Tech info: The shot was taken with a ultracheap old canon zoom lens, Canon FD 75-200 4.5, my father had that one left, but the image quality with the A7ii is awesome!!

Moonrise over Šibenik (Crazy Trip Spot#3) by AlexGaflig

Cludes Tomato and my first stop on the croatian coast was Zadar. It’s small, idyllic and such a nice place to hang out. They have a thing called greetings to the sun (LED light play on the ground) and a sea organ, but it was hard to take pics there. So i’ll skip that and jump to Šibenik.

We planned to take a lunch at Šibenik and then go on to Split.
BUT Šibenik is soooo beautiful!! Šibenik is also known from the Series “Game of Thrones”, there it is Bravos!
The Center of the City has such a wunderful flair with little streets or passages everywhere, sometimes it feels like you walk in a maze up on the hill is also a castle, you see it on the picture.
There are little coffees and restaurants in every little street, often just a few small tables on one side, it’s amazing! So after seeing how beautiful it was there, we decided to stay over night.
We took some pics while standing in the sea with our tripods, we expected a bit more wave action to get the long exposure fog but we didn’t have luck with it.
After that we went again to the Center to take some drinks but the nightlife there was not like in Zadar, the people told us for parties we should go outside of the center. So if you will do the same route, i recommend to stay an evening in Zadar and hang out at the “greetings to the sun” next to the stairs which go to the sea and the next day go on to Šibenik to spend a whole day.

Hi Guys! This is the second upload of my last 2 crazy weeks with Cludes Tomato ! More info about the Trip below.
The Plitvice Lakes in Croatia are one of the most beautiful and impressive places i’ve ever been in my life, besides the Canyons in the US.
If you have the chance to visit it, plan 2 days for it, you won’t be disappointed.
You walk through such an unbelievable nature with vivid colors, clear water and waterfalls everywhere! When you put your finger in the crystal clear water, some fishes will appear immediately. You will never forget this experience!! It’s hard to describe this beauty in one or some pictures, i never thought it would be so wonderful! It’s for people at any age. If you have some questions or want some tips, feel free to contact me. I hope i can visit this place again soon, maybe at Fall or Winter, where the colors should be completely different.
