68 North Beyond the Arctic circle by YiannisPavlis

The light in winter is just jaw dropping (if the weather allows). From the end of September until the beginning of April you will have winterish light characteristics, as the sun does not rise higher than 20° above the horizon, and during the Arctic winter the sun won’t be rising at all..Please Visit me on Facebook!.

The Northern Light by ZacRobinson

A late spring sunset at Uttakleiv Beach in Lofoten, Norway. This shot was captured a couple of days prior to the start of the Arctic Day, or Midnight Sun, where the sun stops setting for 7 weeks. It is facing nearly directly North from the beach.

This beach is located just outside of Leknes, one of the major towns in the Southern Lofoten. The wind was whipping small sandstorms up from the beach and this was occasionally mixed with sea spray. The gear held up well despite the weather, and I was able to snap a few frames from this position where a snowmelt stream joins the ocean.

The light was simply incredible – the best from our week of rain and sleet in the Lofoten.
