Happy New Year 2016 !

A beautiful little crofter’s cottage overlooking Loch Shieldaig on the road from Torridon to Applecross. Historically, the crofter and his family would have existed on livestock and fishing, with root crops grown for the winter. This little house is now used as a holiday cottage.

Composite of two images in the Glencoe area of Scotland. The Loch being Loch Leven & mountains close to Glen Etive.

I named this “Freedom” after the Mel Gibson movie which was partly filmed in this area .I was lucky to be around whilst this was taking part.

Knowing this big lump of tree was here i’d been waiting for the right conditions and hoping i’d be there at the time. All fell into place today, right down to the position the tree had worked its way into. Burleigh Sands, Loch Leven. 0.6 Soft Grad and B+W Conversion in LR CC

Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most recognised castles in Scotland, and probably appears on more shortbread tins and calendars than any other. It is, without doubt, a Scottish icon and certainly one of the most popular visitor attractions in the Highlands.
