Under the Surface by Arild_Heitmann

Im gonna start showing some stuff that ive been holding back. This one is from a couple years back, deep into a remote mountainarea in Northern Norway, most famous for its incredible rock formations.

When this massive storm was moving in, i knew that often the light will be incredible just when the fronts meet.

I am enjoying my photography these days as im slowly evolving my style in a direction that im more and more comfortable with. It probably means doing poorly on this site, but thats not something to be taken too seriously. Lately ive seen far too many high-quality images being totally neglected here.

This one is shot at a remote plateu that was quite hard to reach. Next year me and Max Rive will lead a small group through these mountains again. The last trip was an adventure for life and something really special.

Namibia Untamed
Northern Lights Finale – With Arild Heitmann
Processing Tutorial Videos
Processing Instruction via Skype

Finally home from almost a month in Norway. Holy crap, what a trip. The first half was spent leading one of the best tours I’ve ever led with my dear friend Arild Heitmann. The forecast looked pretty bad leading up to it, but at the last minute it changed, the skies cleared, and one of the best solar storms in the past decade gave us amazing shows 6 nights in a row. I honestly think some of the guys on the trip were starting to get bored with how much Aurora we got… which I’m sure pisses off my wife, because when she flew out to meet me there the following weeks it pissed rain and we could barely get any northern lights to save our lives. But the stormy and moody light that followed made for awesome shooting as well.

This is from one of the nights where we stayed out shooting and didn’t get back to our cabins until after 3am. I even think some of the dudes stayed up for another hour or so to have celebratory beers after an epic night of shooting. Maniacs.

Arild and I have another big tour available for next March where we will be shooting the crazy mountains of the Lofoten Islands with light and aurora, but hopefully with a little more snow! It will fill fast, so check it out soon!

The Misty Mountains by Arild_Heitmann

This is from a fantastic misty morning on the hiking tour me & Max Rive did this summer. Rain had been falling all night and i was worried the whole day would be spent in a splashing rainfall with no visibility at all. Our campsite was down by the lake in the distance. I remember the joy when the sound of falling raindrops on my tent silenced and i looked out and could see the clouds start to break up.

Turned out to be another amazing day on this fabulous adventure.

Email me if youre interested in doing this with us next year.

The Edge by Arild_Heitmann

A different take on the iconic Skogafoss. People were giving me weird looks when i climbed down to the edge, like i was some kind of madman. I have to admit it was kinda scary standing just inches away from the drop. Combine that with crazy amounts of spray and the thundering roar from the waterfall, this was a very tense moment 🙂

We are doing another crazy cool Iceland tour in june 2016. Drop me a mail if youre interested.

Arctic Hawaii by Arild_Heitmann

Arctic Hawaii

After a crazy (!) climb up to a small peak above one of the stunning fjords in Lofoten, this view was the reward. Kinda reminds me of some mountain scenes from Hawaii.
