The view to the mountain Schijenflue by ManuelMartin1972

The weather was just great and I already guessed that the sunset would be fantastic. Thus I made my way because near our house in the mountains there is an imposing gorge. The plan was to photograph the sunset from this gorge! But unfortunately the plan remained only plan, because the way down into the gorge was blocked. And even Elvish nor the one Ring were a help he he he. I wanted to climb over the barriers, as a farmer caught me doing what I was doing! He cried „I wouldn’t do that. It’s too dangerous, you can’t go down to the gorge! There was a landslide in spring and the area is really not very safe!“. Not 5 minutes later I was already invited by him and his wife to have an espresso. Very very friendly people in Graubünden he he he 🙂 I enjoyed the time with this fine company.

My plan failed and I wondered what I should do then. So I said to myself … simply start walking, and let fate decide where it leads you. Sometimes these are the best adventures!! During my hike towards Mount Schijenflue I noticed that I never was in the riverbed of the Schanielenbach. It was time to change this he he he. So I went down to the river, set up the tripod and waited for the dawn. I hope you like the result.

Last view to the „Rheinfall“ in Autumn by ManuelMartin1972

I hope you enjoyed all my images from the „Rheinfall“ I made in summer and in autumn. Well, and this one here is now my last image from this place in autumn. I, for one, am looking forward to the winter, because I have the desire to visit this amazing place in every season. And I hope it will have a lot of snow and ice, because I’m already curious about how this place will look in a winter dress.

Thank you for your time and interest in my photos, your visit is most appreciated 🙂

Night is vanishing over the “Cresta-See” by ManuelMartin1972

After I walked through a beautiful and enchanted forest, I finally reached the lake „Cresta-See“. It really was still dark and everything was quiet and beautiful. And every now and then a cracking noise from left or right … noises, which approached me like floating sounds from the darkness. I could see nothing, but there was an atmosphere like those found only in storybooks. And suddenly this lake appeared out of the darkness. The first light of the morning fought their way through the darkness and revealed this beautiful spectacle of a steaming lake. I’ve visited this lake many times in the past, and I never ever was disappointed by the magic of this place. I hope you like it.

Moment before sunrise by ManuelMartin1972

This image was taken at that day when I photographed the „Rheinfall“ by moonlight. I think this moment here I was able to enjoy happened 30 minutes before sunrise, and I had a bit of stress, because I didn’t want to waste my time and was searching several spots at this location, before the light would be too strong. What I really love is when you can see in the dark how the light is slowly gaining the upper hand against the darkness. I hop you like it 😉

The taste of the mountains by ManuelMartin1972

During our vacation in the Alps, we take a few small hikes with a horde of children. Friends of ours were with their children also in the mountains, and that meant „Obligation for all children to hike with me“ he he he 🙂 It was clear that the children had been overjoyed to be outdoors but they were also running around completely headless. I told the children again and again „Don’t run, it can be dangerous. You have to walk, because there is the dangerous of having twisted an ankle!“. And indeed, after shouting out 2’740 times they finally listen to me he he he 😉 With one small exception! Through the running all the time around and the loud laughter of the children our dog was also animated to do the same. And unfortunately I have never mastered the language of dogs. Before I could take Giorgio on a leash … it happened, what had to happen. Result: An ankle was a bit twisted!!! Well, it was not so bad and we still could admire the beautiful scenery in front of us which I was able to shoot after lunch!

Autumn colors on the „Rheinfall” by ManuelMartin1972

Two weeks ago I posted a photo of the „Rheinfall“ I made in the middle of the night by moonlight! And it was surely clear that I didn’t want to miss the sunrise to make more pictures. I think it’s getting an addiction to visit this place, because I’m thinking about to return to this place in winter when I can find ice and snow here (hopefully)! It is also striking to see how low the water level is … well, we had a wonderful and warm summer here in Switzerland 🙂 But nevertheless the beautiful colors compensate the fact of the low water level.

Ferns in the Mist by ManuelMartin1972

We were during a week in the Swiss Alps to hike. Well, and the weather forecast predicted sunny weather for the entire week. Oh how cool this is he he he. And when we finally arrived at our house in the Alps the sun was shining and laughing 😉 I decided on the same day to make a walk because I simply had to go out. But I should have known it better. In the mountains, the weather can change at any time. And in fact, in the middle of a forest suddenly the weather really changed. Drizzling rain, fog, snow and a very bad visibility? What? … Damn, not again bad weather! My God, and so it remained throughout the entire week. When I read the weather forecast again there were suddenly only black clouds and snowflakes instead of small suns marked as pictographs. I now believe that the weather god is performing an experiment with me just to driving me crazy slowly he he he. Well, I always take what I get and made the best of this situation, and in addition my dog loves this weather … it is always too hot for him in his fur he he he. When I came to this place, the atmosphere was really very mystical and beautiful and I could not resist this temptation and made this photo here. I hope you like it.

Moonlight over the “Rheinfall” by ManuelMartin1972

A few weeks ago I was once again on the „Rheinfall“, because I wanted to photograph this natural spectacle in the autumn. Have you ever seen the „Rheinfall“ by night? And I mean really by night without any artificial light? The light you see here in the picture comes completely from the moonlight. I got up really early and made my way to one of the largest waterfalls in Europe and had still a few hours until dawn. I couldn’t almost see the waterfall because it was dark as in the stomach of a cow. But I could hear the waterfall. And thanks to the moonlight I could make this shot here. On the left you can see just a little arm of the cascade. The main part of this natural wonder isn’t visible from my position here, but you can see the tremendous effect of the impact of the waterfall with the river farther back on the right.

Into the sun by ManuelMartin1972

I don’t do it too often to shoot right into the sun! But this morning the light was so adorable and the reflections of light in the water simply amazing. I rarely see such a light and such a sun by the sea. So why not shooting directly into the sun? Of course I hoped that the images will look more or less good, because where I live I have no sea and therefore to repeat this try would mean to travel and to spend a lot of money he he he 😉 But the best was to have the entire beach for me alone without a single soul at this time in the morning in sight. Simply magic this feeling 🙂

Morning mood at the sea by ManuelMartin1972

This picture was taken on a beautiful and sunny morning on the island of Elba. I got up very early in the morning to reach this area on the cliffs before sunrise. For my taste still too few clouds, but this is what I had every day. But nevertheless it was a wonderful atmosphere and to be alone at the beach was a great feeling before the army of tourists throng to the beach.
