Mystic morning by MartinKrajczy

Sunrise on a misty morning in eastern Germany. The weather conditions at this morning were great. It was a combination of low mist and high mist with a partially cloudy sky. About a hour after sunrise the sun did break through the high mist and turned the valley into a soft light while the colors of the autumn leaves were really a highlight in the lower mist areas. Such a lovely scene with soft tones and light. But it did only last for a few minutes before the sun dissapeared again behind the high mist. It was my fourth visit at this place during my stay in this area and it did pay off for all efforts.

Liquid of life by MartinKrajczy

Liquid of life in the Namib desert. We did follow this thunderstorm for a few hours . The rain fall was always on our left hand side. It was great to observe it moving through the desert building a stripe of grass. After a few hours we nearly had to drive through… tough winds were coming up out of nothing and the silence of the hot desert during afternoon suddenly was gone. It was just awesome to observe the nature forces at work. Since that i know why you drive for hours through a dry landscape with no animals and suddenly there are hundreds of them…. such a thunderstorm happend exactly there 2-3 weeks ago…a miracle of life — Re-mastered version of a shot taken in March this year in the Namib desert

Mystic Light by MartinKrajczy

Fog and sun are a photographers best friends. In combination they are unbeatable. This early morning backlight shot is a good example for this. You would never stop at this place without fog and sun as backlight. Nature generates such a beauty if we take the time to see it. I wish you all many of such magical moments. This is a re-mastered versions…as style changes with the time running bye 🙂

Mystic autumn light by MartinKrajczy

Panorama shot out of eight single frames. I was searching for the fog at this morning and finally found it. The weather situation was difficult as the fog was only in specific areas. In other areas he disappeared already due to the sun breaking through. It was the first time that i did stop at this place but the light was just perfect. I quickly set up my camera and tripod and walked around to find the right position. When i finished with my shooting 15 minutes later the fog was gone. Another version of this shot made it into the top101 of the „International landscape photographer of the world 2014“.

Autumn silence by MartinKrajczy

Panorama shot out of seven single frames. This is a typical weather situation in late autumn / early winter in Germany. The last leaves (mainly orange) on the trees and the red / brown leaves on the ground are a great contrast to the misty situations in the forest. In some years we have many misty situations in other years these weather situation are rare. This is a re-mastered shot from 2013. The current weather situations doen´t allow such shots…too warm and rainy conditions.

Mystic autumn morning by MartinKrajczy

This is a re-mastered version of a shot i published half a year ago – you might remember the time with a preview on 500px in square format ☺. This re-mastered version won two awards in the meantime. It was selected into the „Top101 Landscape photographer of the year“ award. It also reached the top 50 shots with an silver award in the „International EPSON panorama awards“ and the top 10 of the fine art category.
The shot (panorama out of 7 single frames) is taken on a cold, silent autumn morning with a crane migration happening during the shooting. A really awesome place and masterpiece of bridge architecture. I saw recently some shots with people on top of the bridge. I am not a supporter of such shots because it only demonstrates that these people have no respect for the subject they are taking photographs off. It is of course forbidden to climb on the bridge for many good reasons. So if my photo inspires you to go there please respect the nature and the architecture work and have a great time there.

Into the autumn light by MartinKrajczy

This beautiful light on this day with high mist was ideal for taking photos at this location. Only a few people were walking along this canyon at this day. The color of the leaves were awesome. I spend more than a hour at this one place until i left this awesome location and continued wit my walk in the canyon.

Loneliness by MartinKrajczy

Sunset in the Namib desert. In this frame you can see the two sides of this sunset. On the right side the sun doesn´t reach the blue/grey sky anymore while on the left side the sunset is still in his yellow / orange phase. It was great to observe this while having the camera setup with a 90 degree angle to the direct sunlight. This area is close to the border of the Skeleton national parc in the northwest region of Namibia. In the lower season it can happen that you do not see any other human beings for days. One of my favourite areas in Namibia because you can also observe desert elephants in this region if you are lucky. The tree on the left side is standing in the middle of an epidemic stream. This is the reason for the sand line to the hill in the foreground on the left side. Must be great to see water in such an epidemic stream … coming out of nothing.

Magical storm by MartinKrajczy

Panorama frame (out of eight single frames) – The flanking bench of the oldest desert in this world. At this place you are roughly 700-800 meters above the desert. The rain storms above this place very often ends at this place and the rain doesn´t reach the desert which you can see already. It is always a spectacular view from this place so each time possible we stop by. It is a private farm so we have to ask for access or we stay there over night. Can you imagine that the are in the lower third of the frame does belong to this farm. And it is just the northern end of the farm … a very small part of it. These dimensions are unbelievable for a guy like myself coming from Germany. But that is the reason why i like Namibia…space, space, space and silence, silence, silence.

Endless beauty by MartinKrajczy

The Namib desert is the oldest desert of the earth and an endless beauty. This panorama shot (out of six single frames) is taken in the northwest region of the desert. My preferred area as the land belongs to communities and everybody can drive through it. In southern Namibia only the roads are public. Everthing else is private. It is a gift to observe the sunset in such an area. It is so still that you hear each beetle before you see it. Something you would never recognize in our more busy landscapes as there is too much noise from roads, other animals or villages. Really special. This silence is one reason why the Namib desert is one of my favourite places on this planet. You can drive for a couple of days without seeing somebody else. Especially in the lower season.
