This is a place that you cannot reach very easily. Hidden in the forest, this lane is one of my favorite photo locations. Nevertheless, I had not been there for a while, so last weekend I went there again. When I arrived, the light was not very great though. I waited for almost an hour until the light was finally satisfactory. I hope you like it. 😉

I think I am getting old… It seems I can’t keep up with the pace at which things are changing here at 500px. It made me remember a quote of Guillaume Apollinaire: “Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.”

Especially with my autumnal photos, I always try to create a certain mood. A bit of a dark mood. Sometimes processing a photo takes a long time until I’ve finally found the result I was looking for. When I start working on a photo, I never really know where it will end up. I only know the feeling that it should evoke. In that sense, my work flow is mostly trial and error. Sometimes it ends up in nothing. Sometimes I have to process a photo over and over to finally get to something I like.
This photo was different. When I started working on this one, I knew exactly what to do with it to create that slight dark mood and happiness at the same time. Just the proper balance between the two…

This photo I took a few weeks ago in my village. I processed a few times but I was not really happy with the results.
