Especially with my autumnal photos, I always try to create a certain mood. A bit of a dark mood. Sometimes processing a photo takes a long time until I’ve finally found the result I was looking for. When I start working on a photo, I never really know where it will end up. I only know the feeling that it should evoke. In that sense, my work flow is mostly trial and error. Sometimes it ends up in nothing. Sometimes I have to process a photo over and over to finally get to something I like.
This photo was different. When I started working on this one, I knew exactly what to do with it to create that slight dark mood and happiness at the same time. Just the proper balance between the two…
