Reflection of a Green Heron by mrs_c8

There is a pond close by the hotel we were staying at in Mexico and we would often take a walk to see what we might find. Today I was happy to spot this Green Heron and snap a variety of shots. I didn’t see it again on other visits so I was lucky to get so close to this beautiful bird on this day.

Aqueduct of Xalpa by swosina

The aqueduct’s purpose was to carry water from the Oro River to the city of Tepotzoltan. The structure is 41,900 meters in length and 61 meters in height (at its tallest point).

Construction began by the Jesuits but was completed by Manuel Romero de Torres due to the expulsion of the Jesuits from Mexico. The aqueduct was completed in 1854.
