A beautiful sunrise at Milford Sound, Newzealand. Apparently one of the wettest places on earth. Been there twice now and didn’t see any rain. Oh well, it’s definitely a magical location and it was worth getting up in the dark again to walk the 1km to this location before all the tourists arrived.
I have to admit though this picture is an edit in Photoshop and the reflection isn’t real. Hope you like it anyway. | Website | Profile | Instagram

Milford Sound, New Zealand… by dkphotographyaustralia

Milford Sound is a fiord in the south west of New Zealand’s South Island. It’s one of the world’s top travel destinations namely for its high snow capped peaks & surrounding cascades & waterfalls. There truly is no other place like it. But shooting here is a lucky dip. It is known as the wettest inhabited place in NZ and one of the wettest on the planet with 2 out of every 3 days with rainfall.

Every time we have shot here over the years we’ve been unlucky but this year we got to lay witness to something pretty amazing; a cloudless, warm sunset without a breath of wind. It was so calm & peaceful & one the most enjoyable & rewarding shoots.

Majestic Milford by BenMaze

I had an amazing trip to New Zealand over the last two weeks, and I am very much looking forward to sharing all my photos with you all. This was taken in Milford Sound as late afternoon light sent beams through the mountains in the background.

Magical Milford Sound – South Island, New Zealand by jimpattersonphotography

Back in May, I co-led a 12-day workshop and tour to New Zealand. What an amazing place! Fellow photog, Joshua Cripps, put together an amazing itinerary which ended in the gorgeous area of Milford Sound. After it was all over, I headed back to this magical place and caught a moody sunrise with an incredibly low tide. I can’t wait to go back in April 2016!
