Hello There! by morkelerasmus

Just a cute cheetah cub photographed at Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve earlier this year. Sadly it did not survive long after this photo was taken – cheetah cubs have a very high mortality rate, especially in areas where other predators like lion, leopard and hyaena are present.

Flamingo Touchdown by morkelerasmus

Recently I was able to photograph a flock of Greater Flamingos who have settled at a pond on a farm not too far from my house. I hope you like this shot of one of the birds coming in for a landing. I was lying flat in the mud next to the water to get a pleasing perspective and angle on the birds.

I am stoked to be able to announce that this photo has just been awarded as the First Runner Up in the category “Wild Cats of Africa” in the inaugural round of the Nature’s Best Photography Africa competition (in conjunction with Nature’s Best Photography in the USA).
