Smoldering Embers by cwexplorationphotography

I haven’t posted an image of St. Helen’s in a long time and I’ve been holding onto this one for a bit. The processing on this one was tough because the wind was blowing so hard. I had to hand blend 7 images for depth of focus and sharpness throughout the frame. This was taken at twilight as the supermoon rose up over the left shoulder of St. Helen’s the summer of 2014. I think that this is one of my new personal favorites. Hope you will enjoy it as well!

I never got to meet Jeff Swanson but hearing about his story and the lives he touched inspired me to post something in his memory. Plus cancer sucks. Plain and simple. I’ve lost many loved ones to it, so any way that I can support the cause to finding a cure is a huge plus in my book.

This image comes from a very foggy sunrise up near Mt. St. Helen’s Washington. Sometimes you just need to be there, soak it all in and take a deep breath.
