Neist Point is one of the most famous lighthouses in Scotland and can be found on the most westerly tip of Skye near the township of Glendale. The point is regarded as the best place on Skye to see whales, dolphins, porpoises and basking shark. The sea around the point is teeming with sea-birds including gannets, black guillemots, razorbills and shags.
The causeway at the tip of Neist Point is home to several species of rare and unusual plant, including alpine plants such as saxifrages.

The lighthouse, built in 1909, has one of the most dramatic situations of any Scottish lighthouse. Perched on top of a steep cliff it provides a focus for one of the best walks on Isle of Skye.
