Little Lighthouse by edwardreese

This is a long exposure image of the little lighthouse near the Tappan Zee Bridge outside of Tarrytown, New York. Forecast was for rain and fog but the clouds broke up a few times allowing for the long exposure streaks.

Used a 10-stop ND filter to reach the longer exposures. De-saturated much of the image to make for a more moody feel. Also, the reflection was enhanced in post.

City Grit by edwardreese

Its been foggy any rainy all week here around New York City. Not really great weather for the Christmas holidays.

Here is a view of the crappy weather from up on top of the rock in Rockefeller Center. It’s a three-image pano with some blur effects added in post.

Bridge to Gotham City by edwardreese

Was experimenting with post-processing techniques on a classic view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. Ended up with a dark and moody “dark Knight” look at the end. Hope it’s not too over-cooked.

This three-image panorama view was taken at sunset from the cove in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Used a 6-stop ND filter and exposure times were around 15 – 30 seconds. Reflection added in Photoshop.

The Canadian Museum of History is one of Canada’s architectural and cultural jewels. The curvilinear postmodern architecture of Canadian Museum of History is designed by Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal. The curved walls of this marvel architecture echo the shape of a lapping tide.
