A Perfect Night by WaynePinkston

A Perfect Night for Photography in the Valley of Dreams East, In the New Mexico Badlands. There was a lot of airglow in one area of the sky, adding a lot of color. You can see how bizarre the landscape is, a very alien and otherworldly place.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Hope you enjoy!

Valley of Dreams by WaynePinkston

This place is called the Valley of Dreams and is in the New Mexico Badlands, located south of Farmington and the Bisti Badlands, and just North of Chaco Canyon. I was looking for interesting places that are not frequented, and this really fits the bill, being located in the middle of nowhere. There are many miles of dirt roads to reach this place. There is not much information on the internet on this area, but an excellent website is: http://ift.tt/1X19xV0. This is near the Ah-shi-sie-pah wilderness and an area called the Wilderness Study area.

There are innumerable small to medium mudstone hoodoos here, a fascinating wilderness of eroded stone. The rock here is not red rock, but a much paler gray-brownish color.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Hope you enjoy! Your time, likes, and comments are much appreciated!

This is a single exposure.

Go Quietly into the Night by WaynePinkston

This is one of the Winged Hoodoos of the Bisti Badlands in New Mexico, USA. The Badlands are a wonderland of strange and unusual eroded rock shapes. There are different layers of rock that have been laid down over the millennia, and these rock have different degrees of hardness or softness. The softer rocks erode faster, leaving layers of less eroded harder rock on top.

This was taken as a single exposure.
