I have a thing for ice and it’s artistic shapes and patterns. You can imagine my fascination when I stumbled upon this composition in the arctic Svalbard, just a few hours before my flight home to the mainland Norway. With no time to waste I quickly set up my tripod and tried to balance everything ..with no luck! shit, the light was fading out quickly …what to do! screw the tripod I thought, and laid down on my stomach, balanced the D810 on the crisp and thin layer of ice and focus stacked the entire scene. My jacket and pants were filthy AF afterwards (I realised some geese had taken a massive dump in the area too late), but it was all worth it !
Big thanks to my buddy Ryan Dyar for helping me out with editing this image. I can highly recommend his tutorials!
