The Iconic Rock of Corona Del Mar 1 by NhtPhm

It’s been awhile since I uploaded a photo of Corona Del Mar! This was taken while ago and I don’t have time to process it. Got some free time today and decided to work on this. I think this iconic rock has been photographed million times by the people who visited this beach. I also want to take one for myself! Hope you like it and thanks for visiting. Have a great day/night everyone! πŸ™‚

SYMMETRY OF MOTION by scott125

I TOOK THIS SHOT FROM THE HUNTINGTON BEACH PIER. I NARROWED THE FOCUS SO THAT I COULD HIGHLIGHT THE SURFER. I LIKED THAT THE SURFER’S ARMS AND THE BOARD WERE PARALLEL THE GREEN HUE OF THE OCEAN WAS A PLUS.

Under The Huntington Beach Pier 3 by NhtPhm

Please view on Black for better lighting!
I’ve been busy, I just got back from my trip to Bishop, CA for the autumn colour. But before I post those photos, I want to post up some of my old photos to clear up my hard drive LOL! I rarely do this kind of shot at this pier. But sometime the sunset was too beautiful that I couldn’t pass it. Here is one of that sunsets that I had to shot a view under the pier! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day/night everyone! πŸ™‚

Sea of Colors by RussellMcGuire

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a ocean blue.” Sometimes, the photo, is worth the adventure. This happens to be one of those times.
I decided to venture out to Little Corona Del Mar and try to hike down to Arch Rock. Arch Rock is around a mile south of the beach and it’s a nasty hard hike to get to. I started my hike around 5:00 pm to try and get there and set up by sunset. You would think a mile hike would not be that bad and normally, I would agree with you, but this is not a normal hike. Imagine hiking down a beach where you have half a foot walkway and massive waves crashing next to you. Imagine hiking and having to climb up rock walls that are as sharp as razors. imagine hiking over rocks that are as slippery as grease. Add all these things together, and that is what this hike is.

I managed to make it down the beach without falling into the ocean or slipping on the rocks and cracking my head. Once I got to Arch Rock I was amazed at the shear size and beauty of this place! It’s as if God himself reached down and designed this place for a photographer. Stunning rock formations, amazing waves breaking and a perfect arch.
I spent a few hours photographing it and could have spent another few just sitting there admiring it. You could hear the waves crashing against the rocks on the other side and it was just awe inspiring. It really makes you appreciate the strength of the ocean.
As you can imagine, I will be posting pictures of the Arch for the next few days. I think I shot around 1500 photos of it and to me, they are all amazing!

Watchful Eye by RussellMcGuire

The Watchful Eye

The Ocean has its silent caves,
Deep, quiet, and alone;
Though there be fury on the waves,
Beneath them there is none.
The awful spirits of the deep
Hold their communion there;
And there are those for whom we weep,
The young, the bright, the fair.

I promise, this will be the last picture I post of Arch Rock for a while.

This was one of the last shots I took before we headed back to Phoenix. I still wish the tides would have been lower because I would have loved to have been closer to the hole. Standing out in there, with the waves rushing past your feet really is something magical. One tends to forget the strength of the sea until a wave almost pulls you in.

There were two other photographers behind me while I was taking this shot. I felt bad for them; I had been there for an hour or so before they showed up and was running around the rocks getting pictures. They tended to stay back getting wider angle shots and I tried my best to not be in there way. Guess that’s one of the downfalls of finding a great place to shoot, it can get crowded sometimes.

Eye on The Ground by NhtPhm

This is another favorite shot at my favorite beach Corona Del Mar. This was taken before sunset, so there are not a lot of colors here. Those clouds were gone at sunset btw. This is all I got that evening. I was here early to look for a something interesting in the foreground and I found this! This looks like an eye on the ground, that’s why I named this photo “Eye on The Ground”. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day/night everyone! πŸ™‚

Can’t Stop the Light! by NhtPhm

PLEASE View on black! ^^
Back to the seascape. This was taken at my favorite beach Corona Del Mar. I love taking photo like this when the environment was dark and the light shining through. It was a gloomy day with a lot of clouds and I hope the sun could get through and giving a nice glow. I wasn’t not get disappointed. I love the light and the waves here in this shot.
