I managed to make it down the beach without falling into the ocean or slipping on the rocks and cracking my head. Once I got to Arch Rock I was amazed at the shear size and beauty of this place! It’s as if God himself reached down and designed this place for a photographer. Stunning rock formations, amazing waves breaking and a perfect arch.
I spent a few hours photographing it and could have spent another few just sitting there admiring it. You could hear the waves crashing against the rocks on the other side and it was just awe inspiring. It really makes you appreciate the strength of the ocean.
As you can imagine, I will be posting pictures of the Arch for the next few days. I think I shot around 1500 photos of it and to me, they are all amazing!

The Ocean has its silent caves,
Deep, quiet, and alone;
Though there be fury on the waves,
Beneath them there is none.
The awful spirits of the deep
Hold their communion there;
And there are those for whom we weep,
The young, the bright, the fair.
I promise, this will be the last picture I post of Arch Rock for a while.
This was one of the last shots I took before we headed back to Phoenix. I still wish the tides would have been lower because I would have loved to have been closer to the hole. Standing out in there, with the waves rushing past your feet really is something magical. One tends to forget the strength of the sea until a wave almost pulls you in.
There were two other photographers behind me while I was taking this shot. I felt bad for them; I had been there for an hour or so before they showed up and was running around the rocks getting pictures. They tended to stay back getting wider angle shots and I tried my best to not be in there way. Guess thatβs one of the downfalls of finding a great place to shoot, it can get crowded sometimes.
