Tunnel Mountain Road by miketlim

This photo was shot along Tunnel Mountain Road just outside the city of Banff in Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. This spot overlooks some hoodoos. These geological landforms are a conglomerate of silt, gravel and boulders held together by dissolved limestone.

The Moai of Grand Canyon by NhtPhm

Back to my Grand Canyon series. This was taken from my 2nd trip to Grand Canyon NP. This is a popular view point and the rock that caught my eyes was the one on the right of the foreground rock formation. It looks like a Moai monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people on the Chilean Polynesian island of Easter Island. I want to use the light to focus on this rock and the morning light was perfect to capture this. The shadow on the left side and back side of this rock helps the iconic rock pop up really good in this pic.
