Orchids on a Tree by sebastiaoboanerges
Walking by Ipanema streets during the lunch break I’d noted some orchids hanging on the trees at the street. A close look show me that the orchids were tied on the trunk and happily living under the leafs shadows.

A Night in Rio by MCastro17
Even though I’m from Brasil I don’t get to spend nearly as much time there as I would like due to the nature of my job. On this particular day, I was on my way to Bolivia to do a job and decided to spend the night in Rio just to witness one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. This shot was taken about an hour after the sunset and the color was still going strong. I hope you enjoy it.

Photo make in a urban park at Rio de Janeiro during the summer. The “abricó de macaco” or cannonball tree (Couroupita guianensis) is a tree native to the rainforests of Central and South America. The flowers are also strongly sweet scented and the fruit is spherical and woody. The flowers are born in trunk from large bunches, so I had to point the camera to the sky to make the photo.
