Al termine della Val di Funes, in mezzo a un bel prato a ridosso del bosco, sorge a 1346 metri di altitudine la graziosa Chiesetta di San Giovanni in Ranui.
La chiesa venne costruita intorno al 1744 in stile barocco e dedicata a Giovanni Nepomuceno, il quale venne ucciso perchè non rivelò a Venceslao le confessioni della moglie.
Al suo interno si trovano un affresco che raffigura il patrono e una serie di 9 dipinti che illustrano la vita del santo.

Val di Funes is simply picture-perfect: a fairytale that is idyllic and enchantingly beautiful. The main landmark is the Odle/Geisler Dolomite Massif: its striking, pale towers of rock and mountain peaks make it the star of the show.
Because of its unique monumental beauty, UNESCO has listed the Dolomite Mountains as a World Heritage Site. The world’s great mountaineer, Reinhold Messner, comes from Val di Funes, and learned to climb here.
