The soul of the Alps by StefanHefele

What is it that makes the Alps and mountains so fascinating? For sure it´s their unimaginable dimensions. The depth, the expanse. The dangers involved stimulate and challenges our primary instincts. But the sheer beauty that a mountain massif radiates is hard to put into words and will fulfill me in 2016 even more intensive.

Into the Wild by StefanHefele

“Into the Wild” – Gloomy Dolomits

“While I was standing on the edge with an infinite depth in front of me I felt the last warmth of light on my skin while the cold shadows slowly spread and the darkness covered the monumental landscape like a veil.”

Wild Paradise by StefanHefele

“Wild Paradise” – Swiss Mountains

On my tours through remote places on our planet I often stumble upon paradisical places that take my breath away. When I think they are worth a great photo, I decide to wait or return when the light and hence the atmosphere is more unique. It was a long hike deep into the Swiss mountains. If you then, however, encounter the paradise, you feel closer to heaven.

“Green Dusk” – Allgäuer Alpen – Germany

Es sind die letzten Tage in denen die Schrofen – die Steilwiesen der Allgäuer Hochalpen – noch anmutig strahlen. Bald hält die weiße Pracht im Gebirge Einzug und läutet die kalte Zeit des Jahres ein. Mit dem traditionellen Almabtrieb wird diese Jahreszeit gefeiert.

Sea of Ringol by StefanHefele

“Sea of Ringol” – Scotland

I hope you can enjoy this moment like I did while capturing it.

For those that knew Jeff Swanson (I never had the opportunity to meet him in person) either personally or online knows he always brought joy and laughter to all of us. He was unfortunately taken too soon by Melanoma about a year ago, but his images live on and if you happen to enjoy his images please do purchase one of his prints. All proceeds from his website will go to the Melanoma Research Foundation. http://ift.tt/1Kmy8QL

Goblins Woods by StefanHefele

“Goblins Woods” – Redwood – USA

While I roamed over hill and dale thru those Giant Forests at the early morning hours in search for a nice angle I suddenly tripped over this unique match of light. The morning haze in combination with the dense forest vegetation made it a fairy for the eyes. It was just a short moment where I quickly had to find a composition. But luckily my instincts work quite well sometimes ;-).

Glowing Ridge by StefanHefele

“Glowing Ridge” – Senja i Norge

Climbing a ridge with snowshoes is a great experience. Just in time I could make my photo here because the sun had disappeared shortly afterwards. After spending 9 days on the Island Senja last January/February this was the first time I was able to spot the sun… What a special moment for me.

The green Queen by StefanHefele

“The green Queen” – Höfats – Germany

Beauty is not always easy to achieve. So we are doing many things in life. To reach this viewpoint a long march with thousand of vertical metres was necessary. However, the sweat and the effort evaporates when such a photo is in the box.
The Höfats presents itself like a queen in the blazing early evening light on a warm summer day. Full of devotion the wildflowers seem to bow before their beauty. What a paradise of an idyll.
