Left ‘Mesa Arch’ (UT) two days before, drove 17 to 18 hours through several states – most probably the most marvelous drive of my life – arrived the rim with a luck (roads were full of snow), waited the following day and the so cold night and then, finally, walked a while through frozen snow at 4 am in direction of this spot. Nothing but me all alone in that cold winter night with the starry sky above. And then … this amazing sunrise happened. I guess a farewell gift after a three-month trip. I remember I had to talk out loud to share my emotion on my way back to the parking lot that morning. ;D
By the way, image is a crop of a bigger panorama.
