Winterless by eyeofalens

Winterless
Seeing as there has been bugger all snow in the far south of Sweden this Winter thus far, I give you one from last winter from within Bokskogen.
No trolls to be found, maybe after a few of gods nectar, there’s a thought, a midnight run out here searching for them, bound to see all sorts of things with a few Guinness running through the veins 🙂

Desert Chess by eyeofalens

Desert Chess

I nearly missed this opportunity, as I was half way up a dune behind where I’ve captured this from & then saw the sun making a small break through the clouds. So quickly running or scampering back down to here .As it all happen so fast this compostion with the playa could have been better, I should have been back a little further to get all of it in ( which I did afterwards ) but the best of the sun had gone, I have one or two more with a smaller sunstar, but think I prefer this one for now.
I was also torn between running back here or running up the dune, but think I wouldn’t have made it in time for the sun making it’s break.

Morning Piercer by eyeofalens

Morning Piercer
Im in a water mood at the moment & although it’s winter & grey & praying for some snow, I will be longing for some spring greens & water action …Oregon might well beckon again !
Columbia River Gorge has an abundance of waterfalls to keep one going for years on end..cant remeber what this one was called? & only stopped as I was walking pass & saw the sun shining through.
It was a challenge to capture with the spay, would have liked the sunstar a little smaller, but preferred this composition.

Morning Spectacle of Kofa Mountain Range, Arizona by PatrickMarsonOng

Really had an awesome time capturing these peculiar cacti backed by the stunning Kofa spires! Must say that one night in this amazing location is not enough. If you’ve checked out my previous dawn shot, I was shooting this when I accidentally brushed up my leg against one of the jumping cholla. I’ll never forget that excruciating pain as I limped towards my comp, felt each of the tiny needles pierced into my skin as I try to finish my exposures. Muscle memory must have kicked in, didn’t know how I managed to pull this off.

You might be wondering why its called jumping cholla? It was named that way because the stems can easily detach from the main plant and attach itself to whatever it was brushed up against. Those needle-like individual spines are made out of sharp scales that makes extraction very very very painful!!!!!! So when you see one, do not touch!! Lol!

Thanks for looking! Cheers!

Bloody Foreland by eyeofalens

Bloody Foreland

Sometime ago I went through a few old files id never processed or shared & this being one of them
Well this was taken in September 2011 when I with my sister & other family members & friends were saying our final farewell to our old man Frank …or cranky Franky. He wasn’t really cranky, just sometimes : ) We didn’t get the best weather whilst in Donegal & this is about the only dramatic kind light I saw in 2 weeks. Then again I wasn’t really chasing photos as such or certainly not that mentally with it at the time
