Mmm no, I’m not telling the entire truth here … this is not Heidyland but it’s very close to it and I think it does look like right?
This has been taken from the top of Hoher Kasten, one of the mountains of the Alpstein area. I really loved how the fog was playing with the landscape hiding and partially revealing it in a continuos play during that morning I spent there with my friends Erez and Marco.

Last week I had the pleasure to show around the Alpstein region to my dear friend and great photographer Erez Marom. During our second day there we had perfect winter conditions with lot of snow fall and mist turning the landscape into highly atmospheric.

Jurassic Island by lolloriva

Mmm no, this is not an island but it does look like right? Last Saturday we had a very nice and persistent sea of fog over the Padana plains up to extreme south of Switzerland where I live. The mountain you see here is the Monte San Giorgio, a natural UNESCO site as it is regarded as the best fossil record of marine life from the Triassic Period (245–230 million years ago). In fact at that time this mountain was submerged and part of a tropical sea lagoon separated from the open sea by an offshore reef. The particular weather conditions we experienced last Saturday just brought me back in time and made me feel the atmosphere that could be felt right here during the Jurassic …
