Monsoon Over Tempe by RussellMcGuire

Sometimes, life has no reason unlike the seasons
It aimlessly drifts with the wind
We find ourselves in places of unfamiliar faces
Bathing in the shadows of sin
Our souls become lost up in the holocaust
That once was a beautiful life
Like a ship drifting upon the tide we bang and then we ride
The white horse straight into death

One of the more photographed places in Tempe but I had to add it to my list of places to shoot. I wondered out there a few nights back and just walked along the banks of the river. It’s amazing how peaceful life can be when you stop and just look around. Always reminds me of the quote from Ferris Buller “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it”.

I decided to go out and climb A Mountain in Tempe to reshoot one of my Skyharbor photos. While I waited for the sun to go down, a beautiful monsoon formed over South Mountain. I say there and shot it for a bit when I realized it was actually moving towards me. Needless to say, I decided to hightail it off the mountain before the lightning came. This photo is a composite of a round 10 photos plus a panorama.
