THE STAIRCASE by mabel65

The staircase of the National Gallery of Art EAST BUILDING, designed by I.M. Pei, and opened to the public in 1978, is constructed of Tennessee marble. The marble was selected from the same quarry that produced the marble of the original classical West Building, completed in 1941.
