Lothlorien by efossati

A shot from this past autumn, during this days of holidays i have found some moment of tranquillity for edit some raw files
“There are no trees like the trees of that land. For in the autumn their leaves fall not, but turn to gold. Not till the spring and the new green opens do they fall, and then the boughs are laden with yellow flowers; and the floor of the wood is golden, and golden is the roof, and its pillars are of silver, for the bark of the trees is smooth and grey.” source LOTR

Liffey in the rain by intrepidphotos

A classic perspective on Liffey Falls. Fortunately it was raining lightly when I took this shot which is why there is such soft even light in the forest. Liffey Falls is nestled within cool temperate rainforest on the slopes of the Great Western Tiers and forms part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Tasmania, Australia

The Promise by AlisterBenn

Taken on the last day we were on Iceland last a few weeks ago, this image has been one of the hardest I have ever put together. 11 vertical frames at 14mm handheld and manually blended, warped and encouraged into this 16:9 image. Handholding it slow enough to get some flow in the water was the least of the challenges!

This is in an area I have been exploring for a few years now, in summer the rocks are carpeted in a fragile moss and the delicate environment t takes some careful handling. In winter, with everything frozen and covered in snow it was actually a bit easier to access.

Panther Zen by MajeedBadizadegan

When I’m spending time in the Columbia River Gorge, I can’t help but visit some of these southern washington falls. This photo has been sitting on my hard drive since spring of this year but I couldn’t resist the foreground texture.

It was interesting to see this fall accented by some mid morning sun. As clouds were moving overhead, it created some natural dappled light, and ultimately an interesting division of shadows and highlights that I found intriguing.

Many of my advanced image processing techniques that i teach in Skype tutorials were used on this image.

The Archangel by TrevorAnderson

This is one of my takes from the pleasing and popular archangel falls. I liked the graceful tiers and overall inviting presence of this falls compared to the at times formidable treks needed to get to falls in the Pacific Northwest. This area definitely encourages a relaxing break to enjoy the unique story of geology that has unfolded there.
